Notaurious // Year: 2010 A logo redesign for Toronto's own, Taurean 'Notaurious' Scotland. If you've ever been to a '2000 Til', 'Heavy Rotation', or 'Cache Friday's' party in Toronto, chances are you've received a flyer from Notaurious himself. As one of the leading members of Roundtable Entertainment, Taurean is one of the few who can hold the title of 'hardest working flyer guy'. While working on DJ Royale's 'From Boo Boo To The Boardroom', Royale and myself agreed that we had to hook Taurean up with a proper logo. We kept it comic book themed, utilising the 'Joker' colored exclamation points from what we were originally sent to work with, while cleaning up the text and adding a shout bubble. Why so serious? |

Saturday Night Main Event 2 // Year: 2010 A promotional flyer/poster for Saturday Night Main Event, a party that pits the musical catalogue's of various prominent recording artists against each other in a battle format. Taurean contacted me about doing up another flyer for Saturday Night Main Event, this time featuring the extensive catalogue's of So So Def Recordings, and Bad Boy Entertainment. Due to the lack of quality photos out there, I decided the best route for the flyer would be to shoot various record covers from each respective group. Front of the sleeves on the front, back of the sleeves on the back. Simple as that. Wanting a more physical presense this time around, posters inspired by the ones used in the 50's-60's to promote Boxing matches were done up as well. |

Ultra Violet // Year: 2010 A promotional flyer for Ultra Violet, a party that crosses all musical borders. Hip-Hop meets House, Electro meets Rock, R&B meets Pop. All under one roof. Taurean contacted me about redesigning a flyer for a party called Ultra Violet that would not only cater to his core urban crowd, but also one that would reach a wider audience. I definitely wanted this flyer to be fun, yet incapable of being pigeonholed into any one particular genre, much like the vibe of the party itself. I played off the Violet half of the title and gave it a tonal logo, splashes of a bright pink in the background and a bright yellow for added pop for the final product. Andre from SPMG had mentioned afterwards that this was the first flyer he had no creative input in, but absolutely loved. A definite honor to hear those words from him. |

Saturday Night Main Event 3 Year: 2010 A promotional flyer for Saturday Night Main Event, a party that pits the musical catalogue's of various prominent recording artists against each other in a battle format. With the last Saturday Night Main Event series of 2010 approaching quickly, Taurean gave me the go ahead to design the flyer for part 3. I had liked the design that was on the posters we introduced at the last Saturday Night Main Event so much that I decided to carry it over into the main theme for the third installment of the party. The aged look inspired by Boxing posters of the 50's & 60's just seemed to bring all of the branding together, and will definitely remain as the style for all future Saturday Night Main Event's from here on out. |
