BODYROCK this Sunday!

Yaggaaaa! Caribana Weekend is quickly approaching and I don’t know about you, but my weekend is full to the brim with festivities. Most nights jam packed with 2 parties in one evening! You know I get it iiiinnnnnn. Speaking of parties you should partake in, Sunday night, July 31st, my family Wan Luv and Jesse Ohtake (of The Main Ingredient) along with some other promoters are putting together BODYROCK. The last time I hit up this jam was last summer… and needless to say, I did get rocked. (Ask me what I mean by this in person, Lol.)

I’m giving away 2 FREE tickets to this event!!! If you wanna be the winner for this pair, all you have to do is answer me this: What is Lovehard’s slogan? **hint, it is on the Original Lovehard Tee**

We On Some Rich Kidd Sh*t 5

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since Ritchie’s craaaaazyyy WOSRKS4 release party last year. Too many insane artists on stage, the release of his first music video for track ‘Take It Slow’, and of course, Rich Kidd himself, wylin’ out in the crowd and runnin’ down the bar. If there’s anything you need to know about Toronto’s favorite producer/emcee, he puts on one heck of a show.

[Lady Shabazz]

It seems like we had all been waiting for this forever! For the past year I have been seeing/hearing this group prepare for the release of their first album and to see it live on stage was beaaauuttiful! Apollo givin’ so much energy on stage that his veins look like they were about to pop outta his neck, Lady Shabazz and her gorgeous sequined lace poncho and obviously, her buttery buttery voice, and producer Unlimited’s nasty beats makin’ the jam live… it was amaaazing.

Here are the pics from the night. Hollerate!

VANCITY: 3 DaYz

[3 dAyZ apart, Tan-tan]

“Man, Char,  if you and I ever dated… think about it, our relationship would be EPIC!” This seemed to be an ongoing joke between the both of us for the last decade. Born three days apart, since childhood, our friends have always made the prediction that one day we would get married. The truth to this suggestion is that as quickly as we’d get married, we would kill each other, or if we felt like being nice, get a lovely little divorce. Maybe even throw a party for the separation.

VANCITY: Fabulous is an Understatement

“Take our picture!!!” He squealed as he adjusted his sunglasses and put his hand on the small of Nesa’s back. Richie, in his grey blazer, crisp white button up and signature red dixie cup, rolled his eyes in obviousness at my comment that “Hey! You and Ness are matching!” “Duh!” He retorted, “We do this every year!!”

But of Course.

VANCITY: The Ultimate (Re)Union

Standing up with hands sweatily clenched onto my camera, I arose in unison with everyone in the sanctuary anxiously waiting for the grand entrance of the Bride-to-Be. I barely caught a glimpse of her before my eyes started to well up with joyful tears, as I also heard my childhood best friend, Nathan, behind me whisper, “Oh my god, I’m totally gunna cry… Jess is so beautiful.”

I looked back towards the groom standing with hands held in front of him, leading the line of groomsmen all of whom I once knew as boys, now have become men. It was the happiest I had ever seen Anthony… and trust me, I have seen many sides of this human. From a taunting chubby bully, to the days of bubble tea runs and driving around his mother’s white volvo, this was a whole other Anthony I was experiencing; the Man grown up and ready to spend the rest of his life with his Woman.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary, Lovehard!

[Lovehard Blog Launch party, July 17th, 2010. The Main Ingredient]

Of all the things I unnecessarily celebrate… I totally forgot that yesterday was Lovehard’s 1 Year Anniversary! WOW! Shouts and a big thank you to everyone who’s read this blog, been a supporter/fan, and have truly embodied what it means to Lovehard and live it out in their daily lives. It’s more than just a blog, the name I go by for my photo/video productions… it’s a Movement, set in the ideal that life is an all or nothing type deal. Ain’t no half steppin.

With that being said… Lovehard is evolving, I am learning tons, and there is much to come on this blog content wise. Stay tuned for my Lovehard Goes to Vancity series!

[The coolest thing to ever be on my resume. Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest spinning this party. HOT DAMN.]
