[it's only a matter of time.]

The first time I ever met SonReal, I can’t even recall. An argument between whether or not it was at the Manifesto Film Fest, Art Show, this, that and what not still has yet to be proven. I usually am pretty good at remembering the first time I meet people (unless I was inebriated/in a dimly lit environment, lol) but I guess it’s just that natural comfortability I’ve experienced with SonReal that’s made me feel like I’ve known him since time.

Emcee, singer, and passionately ambitious, SonReal has that natural charisma that wins over a crowd and gains their respect. He’s only been on the rise this past year with the release of “The Lightyear Mixtape”, with a track collab’ing with Toronto’s own Rich Kidd. He came down here two months ago to perform at the Toronto Meet Brooklyn/Jean Grae concert for Manifesto Festival, and came back here this weekend again to film his music video for “Already There” featuring Rich Kidd. Honestly… this man’s hustle seriously impresses me (And I don’t say that about just anybody.)

Despite all the craziness with “We’re at capacity at the penthouse, no more extras allowed”, I did not believe SonReal when he said he had “bad news” about the filming of his penthouse scene for his music video. I’m sorry, this is Char Loro we’re talkin’ bout here (let the ego talk for a minute), if I wanna be there… I’m gunna be there! LOL. Besides, how often do you get the opportunity to be in a music video on a 20G’s budget, that’s been chosen by MUCHFact?! Yeah. That’s what I thought! I busted out a red dress and heels (never happens, folks) for that sh*t! For. Real.

The shoot was really wicked. I’m not going to say too much about it, but just know RAW footage productions who made it all happen, are impeccable with their quality of work. I was mesmerized by all the equipment, and the nerdy EFP in me was observing everyone in their roles. Stay tuned, the video is projected to be released in December!

Because I was in the video *flips hair over her shoulder* I unfortunately couldn’t take any behind-the-scenes shots like I originally wanted to… but here’s what I got, just to give ya’ll a sneak peak for what’s to come…
